Your next assignment is to find and analyze a website that can be used for learning English. You will have to send your analysis to my email address (groups 141a, 141b, 142a) or present it during our last class (142b).

You can read the news from all over the world. Also you can listen to some of the news and learn new vocabulary from them. As well as listening online you can download the article, exercises and the mp3 file so that to work with it in an offline mode.

You'll also be able, finally, to learn irregular verbs, and signs of transcription - the phonetic symbols and their corresponding English sounds. Yes, at the initial stage of language learning for an adult to do without this hard.

ReplyDeleteThis site can help of learning English. I think that this this the best one, that I have found. It has many different parts, for example, business English, English for free, English for teaching (plans for lessons), Grammar, Pronunciation, Vocabulary...
I liked most of all about this site, that it has additional information. It's very important to know the culture and the history of the country, which languge you learn. In this website is the article og British. Also there is a searching system, so if you have an immediate question, tou can ask, and it will help to find an aswer on the question. To know about the progress of your learning there are also different quizzes. There is also an archives of previous articles, recipes, British poetry, articles, jokes, etc.
There is nothing that I didn't like about the site.

ESL is used when people learn English in an English speaking country. EFL is used when people learn English in a non-English speaking country. Is this important? Not very, if you are a student. But there are some important technical considerations for teachers.

It really is very exciting for those who study language, interested in its history and wants to know more. I also liked that the site is a place for discussion and you can create your own blog, read other blogs and make friends. The only thing, in my opinion, lacks this site is the forum or something like online chat, where you can share knowledge online. I liked the site. I put 9.

If you have already learned English, here you can test(train) yourself and also learn smth new (vocabulary, idioms etc). If you are novice at learning English, you’ll find here all the necessary tasks and information to develop your knowledge! Here you can find great variety of different tests and tasks: factsheets, worksheets, quizzes and games to help improve your skills. Furthermore, you can download here texts for listening and reading. Also, if you don’t have an opportunity to work always on-line, you can download here a special program, which contains the main part of tasks and due to it you can easily work offline. But, to be honest, I don’t like web-design of the site: the colours are too bright and eyes become tired very quickly ! So, I give 8 points to this site.

2) It's simple, easy to navigate and extremely helpfull.
